AVGONIMA
Located approximately three kilometers from Nea Moni, you come upon a vision that only exists in fairy tales. The road takes you to a well-preserved stone village that has hidden treasures only known to those seeking mystery and adventure.

Today, there are only a few permanent residents living in the village, however, the summer months bring crowds of people that fill the little stone houses. There is a precious pine covered forest surrounding this area that is the most significant forest on the island of Chios. This forest embraces the villages of Avgonyma and Anavatos (also known as the Mystras of Chios).

The view from the stone square on the west side of the village offers a breathtaking view of the crystal waters of Elinda Bay and the Aegean Sea. On a clear day, visitors will be in awe of the view of the island of Psara.

Don't miss the incredibly beautiful sunset from the stone square located on the west side of the village. The fading rays of sunshine will surely take your breath away
